The weeks have been long and busy.
I have been challenged to be flexible. Lord, how can I listen to you if I don’t
have a lot of alone time with you? When can I just stop and be with you? I am a
very extrovert but I also like to be alone.
During
the week, I was busy serving the children. Among the loud giggles and fast
little feet, I get asked to meet a stranger outside. I was very confused but
obeyed. I saw a thin man at the front
door waiting to meet me. My heart chased after judgment after noticing what he
looked like. I noticed that he wore makeup and tight clothing. He introduced
himself as Miguel Angel. I heard God prompt in my heart to listen and pray
while he spoke. I asked him what lead him to this place, his answer astounded
me. He said that as he was walking down the street looking for work and he
heard a voice say the word “church.” After hearing that word he turned around
and noticed this place. By the way this church building has no church sign in
front of it! So you know it was totally GOD!
As he
shared his heart, I prayed for him. I saw Christ in his heart. This man shared
that he grew up in church but at the age of 14 stopped going to church. His
lifestyle choices lead him away from Christ. I asked him if I could pray for
him and he said yes. I prayed for his heart and that he could find a job. I
invited him to church Sunday morning and he came. I was so happy he came and
welcomed me with a Godly hug. I was talking to him and he was so happy to be at
the lord’s house. He was excited that he came to church and shared great news.
Miguel Angel now is part of the church bible study on Monday nights and has a
brand new job! Praise God. When I thought I wasn’t close to God, He was closer
than ever and came to visit me. I encourage you to be ready for God to use you
and listen in Love.
This is good Joel. It is so easy to get caught up in going through the ministry motions. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this story. It’s really encouraging.
