Howdy!
My name is Joel Walters. I am currently finishing my junior year at
Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. I am studying Recreation, Park, and Tourism
Sciences emphasizing in Youth Development.
I was born and raised in a small Northeast Texas town called Mt.
Pleasant.
Growing up in my home town youth group, I went
on a few mission trips through M-Fuge
Camps. These were stateside weeklong
mission trips where we served the community and spread the gospel. This past spring break I was extremely
blessed to go with my church here in College Station for a full week of fruitful missions in Baton Rouge, LA on LSU’s campus.
I will never forget that week and how much the Spirit moved bringing
freedom to so many lives.
At the age of 8 I professed faith in Jesus
Christ and was baptized. My pursuit
after Jesus (actually His relentless pursuit after me) didn’t begin (or wasn’t
realized) till in college when the good Lord overwhelmed me with His grace and
revived my life. When the awe of Jesus
being the ultimate sacrifice of all of my wicked sins, I thought “there is only
one way to respond to His perfect love which is to gladly lay down my life and
pick up my cross for His purposes”. Now I
am ruined for His glory alone and desperately depend on His presence to lead me. I am blessed that God has poured so much
favor over my life and given me such an incredible church family at Antioch
Community Church in College Station.
You know you’re popular… I can see how many times a blog has been posted and your bio has been clicked on 111 times. That’s ridiculous- you must have lots of prayer warriors!
I love you put “God’s relentless pursuit of you.” I feel the same way at time. He never gives up on us, and that is one of the most amazing things about God. Well, I’ll see you in Tennessee
I loved your post. Remember, you are being used by God ALL the time. I am so proud of your committment to God. Always be prepared to do God’s work because he needs you. I love you.
