It sounds like we each have living quarter issues this summer. Don’t you just love missions and what we sacrifice to serve our Lord Jesus Christ?!?!?
I’m in New Orleans with the team here and we have a decent two story house with 5 rooms however it isn’t very big- I’m sure y’all know! This first week we have 33 and that will be tight but all the rest of the weeks are like 50+! At night we’re not able to have the participants leave the building due to their safety… we rigged the sanctuary with a ton of board games and excited about that intentional relationship building it will create!
As for Matamoros, MX I heard that they’re having issues with their AC- be praying that gets back up and running.
I heard from Marcus today in Philly-the MC’s and girl interns are in transitional housing and there’s 11 of them total and 1 bathroom- right now the shower isn’t working due to leaking issues so they’re showering at the church. As for Doug he’s enjoying his sweet setup at the church- looking for some relief for his back though- be praying they can find a nice mattress for him!
As for Appalachia- well, there are weeks that we have 100+ participants and there is NO housing and NO leaders. I’m sure you guys understand how much stress that has given me… the no leaders part mainly. So be in prayer for that!
I appreciate all y’all and your hard work at the different locations. I’m praying that you guys are learning a ton and are seeing Christ work around you! These few days has been amazing as the Lord has used us: Lauren, Jenn and I to be Christs hands and feet to the people of New Orleans!
